CAMPERS SHOULD BE HAVING FUN WITH EACH OTHER
RATHER THAN MAKING FUN OF ONE ANOTHER!
Although kids are unable to control the actions and words of the teasers, they can learn to control their own responses and reactions to the tease. Counselors can be very instrumental in raising campers’ awareness about these hurtful behaviors and teaching them simple strategies to use when someone ridicules or insults them. This interactive workshop will empower recreational staff with tools, tips, and practical advice to empower kids and reduce teasing. Easing the Teasing will enhance fun at camp as well as campers’ self-esteem.
