What is teasing? Playful or good-humored teasing is when one person has fun with another person. Playful teasing causes everyone to smile or laugh, including the "teasee," the person who is teased. Hurtful teasing is when one person makes fun of another. This includes ridicule, name-calling, and put-downs. Sometimes playful teasing may be perceived or interpreted as hurtful teasing. More hostile teasing may include tormenting, verbal bullying, or harassing.
