| EASING THE TEASING® presentations and workshops are designed for teachers, social workers, counselors, community groups and recreation/camp personnel: Teasing is a universal problem, and it cannot be completely prevented. Although children are unable to control what others say, they can learn to control their own responses and reactions, which will "ease the tease." Educators and other professionals can be extremely instrumental in raising kids' awareness about these hurtful behaviors and teaching them simple strategies. When children realize that there are effective strategies that they can use in teasing situations, they feel empowered and their coping skills are strengthened. The 1 1/2- to 3-hour staff development/in-service training includes: * Types of teasing vs. bullying * What kids are teased about * Reactions to teasing * Why kids tease * The 10 strategies * Suggestions for parents of teasees and teasers * Suggestions for the school setting * Questions and answers For more information, contact Judy by e-mailing her at [email protected] You also can write to Judy at: Judy S.
